"The power of Kundalini Yoga lies in the actual experience. It goes right into your heart and extends your consciousness so you may have a wider horizon of grace and knowing the truth." - Yogi Bhajan
What is Kundalini Yoga?
Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is designed to give you
"hands on" experience of your highest consciousness. It is not a
religion. Kundalini Yoga is a sacred science. It is scientific because
it provides a technology, a method by which anyone who practices it
can experience their creative life potential. It is universal and
The focus of Kundalini Yoga is on loosening joints are muscle areas,
and opening subtle energy channels to develop flexibility and balance.
It also helps to overcome stress and blockages. Practicing Kundalini
Yoga develops the intuitive mind, creates clarity of purpose and
raises our awareness.
Kundalini Yoga exercises do not depend so much on physical strength
and fitness, but emphasise concentration, fluent and repetitive
movement, synchronised with the breath and sound.
Kundalini Yoga exercises strengthens the glandular system and nervous
system, rejuvenates the organs and skin, and tones the muscles.
Breathing and exercises clean the subtle energy channels so that
Prana, the life force can move freely through the body and the
different body parts. Exercises help to increase flexibility and
strength and to improve the overall health condition. Meditations calm
the mind, help to focus, and enable us to reach into the deeper layers
of our life and being.
Breathing, exercise and meditation are also effective tools to release
stress and trauma. Practicing these techniques balances body, mind and
soul. One feels connected with ones inner creative energy (the
Kundalini energy), and with the energy in ones surroundings.
